The Very Hungry Caterpillar Party

Planning with Mommy Kathleen was a blast! She already knew what theme to go with from the get go, that made planning and conceptualizing so easy! She chose a book that her son, Marco who was turning one knew and liked. This is actually a brilliant idea! One year old birthday celebrants usually do not have a say on what their party will be like…for obvious reasons! But having a theme that is part of their daily life and that they are familiar with (like a favorite story book) is genius! Mommy Kathleen was very specific of what the Hungry Caterpillar should look like, like the colors and shapes because this is what Marco is familiar with. We exchanged a number of emails and alot of viber messages to come up with this party.

Working with Kathleen made me realize that being a working mom is not an excuse not to be hands on with your child’s party planning and execution. Inspite of her busy work schedule, she would have the time to pop in on me and let me know what her ideas are and what she would want for the party. She even had the time to make the tarp, giveaway jars and thank you cards for her guests…all with the help of her sister teacher Kay.:)

I had a great time planning this party and making the cake and centerpieces and all other details. Hope you enjoy the photos too! 🙂
