Blessing I found in Creating Fondant Cakes

I would like to share with you some of the fondant cakes that I have created in the past year and how I found a blessing in making them! Making fondant cakes was Β really big surprise for me. I was never an avid baker, nor did I do anything much that had to do with making any kind of food. I would cook for my family by following simple recipes and that’s about the background that I have with being in the kitchen.

I have been doing children’s party set ups for a few years when I suddenly realized that I have my priorities wrong. I am a work from HOME mom, but I am not home when my family is! I would be out working on weekends while my kids and husband wait for me at home, I would be home during the weekdays when my kids were in school and my husband was in the office! I would often skip going to church because a party set up would take up most of my Sunday. I felt a burden in my heart that I was doing something wrong and disobedient. I talked to my husband about it and started praying… A while back I took a class in fondant making, but I never really thought of making a business out of it. I just took the class because I wanted to learn something new and my schedule was free for the weekday classes. After sometime of praying and reading God’s word on how He wants a wife and mom to prioritize, I decided to lessen my party set ups and totally remove Sunday parties so that it won’t get in the way of going to church and spending time with my family.

God really has a great plan for us when we trust, obey and follow Him. Soon after I dropped most of my parties, the cake orders started coming in. The great part about making fondant cakes is that I can do it during weekdays, and I just have to deliver it and I am free to spend time with my loved ones. I also discovered how much I enjoy and love making and decorating cakes! It has become another creative outlet for me that I just love doing! God really is a God of order and He has helped me put my priorities in the right order.

I am still learning and is still a neophyte in the world of fondant making. But I am greatful that God has shown me a passion in this that I never knew I had. I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed making each one of these creations.

  • You’re the best. You are not only gifted but also blessed. Your creations are one of a kind. If only you’re here in Canada, you will be very famous. Cakes here are quite expensive and very rare you see the kind of cakes you do.

Will continue to pray that God will bless you and your business. Looking forward to seeing you next year 2015.

  • Hi Maricel! Your words “God really has a great plan for us when we trust, obey and follow Him.” hit me straight. I think this is the message I needed to hear from Him (after countless messages that I just disregard!).
